Quality Improvement Methodology

Six Sigma (and its complementary methodology, Lean) is a data-driven method for process improvement and waste elimination. Six Sigma is focused on identifing and correcting the causes of “defects and errors” in projects, thus reducing costs and increasing customer satisfaction by ensuring high quality outcomes.

A graphic illustrating the DMAIC concept from the Six Sigma methodology. The colorful graphic shows the initials and words: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control.

There are several levels of Six Sigma certification, often referred to in terms of colors, or “belts.” Versatile offers training courses that will help students become certified at the White, Yellow, and Green levels.
